The offered National Sheriffs Associtation pin belonged to Elvis Presley, and he would have taken wearing very seriously. Elvis was always a staunch supporter of law enforcement officers, and his fascination led to his famous habit of collecting badges and other items related to policing. The pin is accompanied by a copy of the notarized letter of authenticity that Marty Lacker provided to Jimmy Velvet when he sold him several items, including this pin, on April 28, 1983. Also included is an “Elvis Presley Museum” certificate of authenticity signed by Jimmy Velvet and dated 1/3/93, which reads in part “This National Sheriffs Association Pin was worn by Elvis Presley and given to his bodyguard and wardrobe manager, Marty Lacker, and was on display in the Elvis Presley Museum for several years.” The pin measure ¾ inches in diameter and presents without its original backing clasp but has no discernible distresses. Near Mint condition.
