Offered is presentation plaque commemorating the January 31, 1976, issue of Record World Magazine featuring Elton John on the cover and presenting itself with the cover headline "AN ELTON JOHN SPECTACULAR." The issue celebrated Elton John's five years in the record business, and was full of stories about his career thus far as well as full page congratulatory advertisements from his friends in the business, music industry related companies and other well-wishers. The magazine most likely produced a number of these presentation plaques, but the offered plaque would have gone to some semblance of an industry "insider," such as a producer, manager or record company executive. Accompanying the plaque is a copy of the issue, which provides a fascinating look at how the industry saw Elton John's career after just a few short years. The wooden plaque with an actual magazine cover laminated to the front measures 12 1/2 x 15 3/4 inches and presents in Near Mint condition.
