Please Note:
A portion of the proceeds from sale of the Elton John lots, 229–281, will be donated to The Elton John Aids Foundation.

The offered award was presented to Elton John and created by concert promoter Harvey Goldsmith Entertainments to celebrate a series of 12 sold out shows by Elton John and Ray Cooper at the Royal Albert Hall in 1994. As they had done in 1993 and earlier in 1979 (and would continue to do for years to come!), Elton John and percussionist Ray Cooper teamed up on an extensive tour of 29 concerts in six U.S. cities as well as France, Italy and the U.K. The tour culminated in the aforementioned 12 straight sold out shows at the Royal Albert Hall. The plaque on the award summarizes thus: "Elton John / Royal Albert Hall / 12 Sold Out Shows / 12/11/94 - 12/12/94 / THANKS FROM HARVEY GOLDSMITH ENTERTAINMENTS." A bright yellow handbill from the tour is framed above the plaque to create a tidy little presentation. During the 1994 tour, and many others over the years, Elton would accommodate extensive solos for Cooper on some of his most beloved songs, and the two would share the spotlight together to the delight of fans. The pair played shows literally all over the world, visiting six continents before they were through. The award measures 11 x 11 1/2 inches and presents with minor wear in the form of scratches and scuffs to the silver painted frame. Near Mint condition.
