1971 Elton John Signed Copy of Bernie Taupin's LP Bernie Taupin - Also Signed by Band Members Davey Johnstone and Shawn Phillips

Offered is a copy of Bernie Taupin's 1971 debut solo album, Bernie Taupin, signed by Elton John, Davey Johnstone and Shawn Phillips. Phillips and Johnstone worked on the album, and Elton helped write one of the first songs/spoken word poems on the album. Collectors may never see another copy of the LP signed by Elton John, much less one signed by Johnstone and the mercurial Shawn Phillips. Elton has signed "Best Wishes to Larry, Elton John," and Shawn Phillips signed, "To Larry I wish you Health Love & Clarity, Shawn Phillips." Davey simply signed his name to noted Texas autograph collector Larry Lent. The concept album was a tour de force of Tolkien/C.S. Lewis inspired prose, but was not well-received. The offered copy is the U.S. release on Elektra Records, but the album was also released on DJM Records in the U.K as simply Taupin, with a different cover where Bernie is holding a melted candle in his hands. The album is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Beckett Authentic. The original poem sheets are not present in the album. The album sleeve shows moderate to heavy wear, but the autographs are not affected. Excellent condition overall, with the vinyl much nicer.
