Please Note:
A portion of the proceeds from sale of the Elton John lots, 229–281, will be donated to The Elton John Aids Foundation.

Offered is a reel to reel with a 60 second radio spot promoting Elton John's live album 11-17-70. The album was released in April 1971, but the accompanying "Inter-Office Communication" from Uni Records dated June 2, 1971, indicates the record label were promoting the album into the summer of that year. The memo reads "Enclosed are spots for two phenomenal Uni LP's - the Elton John '11-17-70' album and 'Orville Stoeber's Songs.' They are for your own use locally. We have more if you need them." Radio commercials of the era would certainly have had excerpts from the album but also may have included interview clips of the artist talking about the release. The reel presents in its original box from the studio, and it has never been played. The live album experienced slow sales initially, which could be attributed to rampant bootlegging of live shows at the time. Additionally, the market may have been a bit saturated since he had three other records on the shelves, Elton John, Tumbleweed Connection and the soundtrack to the film Friends. The box measures 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches and presents with only minimal wear. Near Mint to Mint condition.
