The famous Terry O'Neill photograph of Elton John in his Nudie Cohn-designed suit dominates the offered 1972 UNI/MCA Records poster promoting his album Honky Chateau. In this smaller sized poster, we get a closeup of Elton, as opposed to the full-body image on the large version of this poster also offered in this auction. He wore at least two different Nudie suits during the photo shoot, but this one was chosen to grace the promotional materials in record stores, newspaper advertising, billboards and even the 45 sleeves for the single "Rocket Man." The poster simply features the image with "Elton John Honky Chateau," the UNI/MCA logo and the album's catalog number of UNI-93135. The poster measures 12 x 18 and presents with only minor wear to the lower left edge with some very small cracks. Near Mint condition.
