The offered group of 1940's counter cards were produced as in-store enticements for ladies to buy LUX soap. The displays feature a bevy of Hollywood starlets. Each counter card is designed to be held up by the product itself-instructions indicate that the bottom sections were to be folded and soap was to be stacked onto the flaps to hold up the display. Ingenious. The group includes LUX soap counter cards featuring: Paulette Goddard, Kitty (1945); Paulette Goddard, "Paramount Star" (1943); Rita Hayworth, Cover Girl (1944); Betty Hutton, Miracle of Morgan's Creek (1944); Loretta Young, Ladies Courageous (1944); Ann Sheridan, The Animal Kingdom (this was the film's working title-it was a remake of the 1932 film of the same name. The film was released as One More Tomorrow (1946); and Dorothy Lamour, Road to Utopia (1946). Each counter cards measures 10 3/4 x 14 inches. The group presents with some edge wear, scuffing and scratches, staining and a few areas of paper loss. Excellent condition with some lesser.
