The offered script is for "The Christmas Show" episode of the television show The Monkees from 1967. The episode came late in the two year run of the show, and the plot leans into the somewhat serious story of the group being hired to babysit a young boy who is a bit of a grinch. The boy is played by Butch Patrick, better known as Eddie Munster. The group, of course, is played by Davey Jones, Mickey Dolenz, Peter Tork and Mike Nesmith, who do bring the requisite insane antics and physical comedy into the episode. The cover of the script lists the show as "The Christmas Show (#47346) by Neil Burstyn" and "Final Draft November 14, 1967." The episode was filmed in late November and aired on December 23,1967. The script, as a "Final Draft," has the expected yellow "revised pages" throughout. The real highlight of the episode is the band's a cappella version of the traditional song "Ríu Ríu Chíu." There's a touching scene at the end of the episode when The Monkees bring out the crew and production staff of the show to introduce them all and let them say Merry Christmas and be "seen" by their families as the credits roll. The script measures 8 1/2 x 11 inches and presents with little wear. Near Mint condition.
