When a kid opened the comics section of the Sunday, April 7, 1968, edition of the Philadelphia Inquirer they were treated to the offered full-color poster of The Monkees. One persistent fan took their copy of the poster and had all four members of the band sign it, albeit at a later date, and Davy Signed it twice! The poster's caption reads: "THE MONKEES: In NBC's rock 'n' roll group are, left to right, top: Mickey Dolenz and Mike Nesmith; bottom: Peter Tork and David Jones." Mickey took care of adding "The Monkees" before his name, and he, Nesmith and Jones signed in silver Sharpie. At a later date, Peter Tork was signing the poster, and an overzealous Davy signed it again. Either way, if a collector wants one, impressive Monkees signed showpiece, this is it. The poster is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Beckett Authentic. It measures 22 x 28 inches and presents will surprisingly little wear, considering the fragile newsprint, but does have some separations along the folds and edge wear. Excellent condition. As an aside, Steve Canyon's friend is not being a gentleman in the comic on the other side. Steve will deal with him next Sunday, I'm sure.
