The offered jacket was worn by Ricky Nelson on the television show The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. The series represented an ideal of the 1950's American family, certainly launched musical career of Ricky Nelson, and owns the distinction of being the longest-running live-action sitcom in United States television history by number of episodes aired, more than 400 episodes! The satiny, green and black smoking jacket was featured in one of those episodes in the 1950s based on the letter from Nelson's daughter.

The accompanying notarized "Letter of Provenance" is signed by Ricky's daughter Tracy Nelson. It reads in part:

Green and black satin smoking jacket worn on 'Ozzie and Harriet.' Black satin cuff and collar. Collar narrow. Label says Oriental Arts Museum Beirut Lebanon. 1957. is genuine and authentic property from the estate of my late father, Rick Nelson. I have personally examined this item, and the description written above is in my own words.

The jacket still maintains its size "M" tag in the collar, along with the manufacturer tag that reads "Oriental Arts Museum / P.O. BOX 1231 / Beirut-Lebanon." Though Lebanon has suffered through decades of strife recently, there was a time when it was a hot tourist destination, even known as the "Paris" of the Middle East. Also included with the lot is a Rick Nelson autograph on CBS stationary, that reads. "To Dierdra, Always, Rick Nelson." The autograph is accompanied by a certificat of authenticity from Beckett Authentic. The jacket measures 32 inches and length and presents with signs of moderate use, with some loose strands and while there is no belt the belt loops are intact. Excellent to Mint condtion.
