Offered is a special radio programming record advertising the 1972 concert film Elvis on Tour. The “Open-End Radio Featurette / Featuring Elvis’ Leading Ladies” as stated on the green label comes with the typed DJ dialogue that would have accompanied the record. This script allowed the radio announcer to “interview” the leading ladies as their answers to his scripted questions were included in this programming record. The interviewees include Shelley Fabares, Deborah Walley, Ann-Margret, Stella Stevens, Carolyn Jones, Mary Ann Mobley, Ursula Andress and Mary Tyler Moore. The script provides the announcer specific dialogue and questions along with the answers the ladies will give on the record to ensure a seamless “interview.” Elvis on Tour features footage from four different concerts during 1972 and also utilizes some vintage footage from Elvis’ early TV appearances. The on-stage scenes capture the power and grace of Elvis the performer, and this compilation of marvels helps the documentary to win the Golden Globe in 1972. This unique advertising pairing is a rare survivor since many such promotions were likely destroyed after the promotional run of the concert film. The record measures 7 inche in diameter and presents with little to no wear. Near Mint condition.
