The offered RCA Victor 33 1/3 RPM 1959 November/December Sampler features the Elvis Presley single "I Beg of You." Although the single was released originally in 1957, it appears on the compilation album 50,000,000 Elvis Fans Can't Be Wrong, which was released in November of 1959--hence the single's inclusion on this contemporaneous RCA sampler LP. The catalog number for the 50,000,000 LP is printed after the title of the single "LPM-2075." Decades before the advent of the internet and downloadable songs, record companies would produce music samplers, records usually containing a single song each of a variety of artists in the record company’s catalog. These “pop samplers” would serve as marketing tools to introduce listeners to certain artists or songs in hopes of then prompting LP sales. The '50s and ’60s were an especially popular time for this format of promotion. The LP measures 12 inches in diameter and presents with very light wear with just a few minor distresses. Very Good+ condition.
