The offered RIAA Gold Record was awarded for Elvis Presley's 1971 LP Elvis Country (I'm 10,000 Years Old). The album's tracks came from recording sessions in June and September 1970, and the albums single was I Really Don't Want to Know" / "There Goes My Everything." Nearly every style of country music is represented; bluegrass, honky tonk, Western swing, rockabilly, countrypolitan, and even the then-nascent "outlaw" movement. Snippets of the song "I Was Born About Ten Thousand Years Ago" act as a bridge between each track.

The award's plaque reads “Presented to RCA RECORDS to Commemorate the Sale of More Than 500,000 Copies of The RCA RECORDS Album, Cassette and C.D. 'Elvis Country.'” Though the RIAA certified the LP gold on December 1, 1977, the offered award was produced at a later period, perhaps the early 1990s, when CDs were included in the count and featured in the awards themselves. This was a common practice when record companies or artists wanted to update their "gold record" collections. The award measures 17 x 21 inches and presents with minor scuffing to the frame and plexiglass. Near Mint condition.
