This impressive photo, measuring 14 by 11 inches, captures Elvis on stage, blue scarf around his neck and wearing his 1974 American Eagle jumpsuit, inspecting a gift handed to him by a fan. Elvis wore this jumpsuit in at least seven cities in 1974, including Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe. The inscription reads “To Jim, your friend allways, Elvis Presley.” (Elvis had a habit of mispelling "always.") This full-color, framed photo originally emanates from the collection of Jim Curtin, one of the most well-known Elvis collectors and fans. Jim Curtin was a young man in the early 1970s when his adoration for Elvis led him to attend over 50 performances, accumulate a noteworthy collection and continue to pay tribute to the King after his death. This quintessential Elvis image comes with a certificate of authenticity from the 2006 sale of The Jim “E” Curtin Elvis Empire Collection that states “I do hereby attest that this memorabilia is authentic.” The reverse of the certificate reads “Lot Number: 29 1974 ELVIS PRESLEY SIGNED PHOTO.” The framed, signed and inscribed image of a smiling Elvis in concert measures 22 by 19 inches and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
