Albert Belle was a magnet for controversy during his dominant but not overly long Major League career. His adamant reluctance to speak with, much less ingratiate himself to, the press certainly didn't help, but Belle's behavior was always his biggest problem. Regardless, he put up strong numbers in his 12 years in the Majors, hitting .295 for his career, became the only player to hit 50 doubles and 50 home runs in one season and had over 100 RBIs in his final nine straight seasons. THe offered Chicago White Sox black road jersey was used by Belle during the 1997 season, where he amassed 30 home runs, 116, RBIs and 174 hits. The size "48" Russell Athletic maintains all its proper tagging plus the right arm patch that reads "2 Nelson Fox 2" in celebration of White Sox legend Nellie Fox being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame that year. The jersey shows moderate "dugout" wear to the back, with both Belle's "8" and several letters of his name showing distress. Near Mint condition.
