Offered is an incredibly rare uncut sheet of production proof cards from the 1962 Topps "Mars Attacks" set. The cards' final color was created by the combination of mixing cyan (blue), magenta, yellow and black inks during printing, and the offered pair, with the black plate on clear film and the cyan plate on card stock, represent a step in that process. The six cards on this uncut sheet are:
- #7 "Destroying the Bridge";
- #26 "The Tidal Wave";
- #32 "Robot Terror";
- #43 "Blasting the Bug";
- #45 "Fighting Giant Insects"; and
- #50 "Smashing the Enemy."
We are also offering the proof for card #1 "The Invasion Begins" the #55 checklist card in this auction. The black plate film measures 11 7/8 x 8 1/2 inches, and the uncut cyan sheet measures 11 x 8 inches. Presents in pristine Near Mint to Mint condition.
