The offered RIAA Gold Record Award was presented for the The Rolling Stones single "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction." The song was on their 1965 LP Out of Our Heads, and was released as a single on June 5, 1965, becoming The Stones first number one hit in the U.S. The RIAA certified the song Gold soon after its release, on July 19, 1965, though the offered award's "floater" style with gold frame and black background indicates it was made in the late 1970s or early 1980s. The plaque on the award reads "Presented to KEITH RICHARDS to Commemorate the Sale of More than One Million Copies of the LONDON RECORDS Single Record '(I CAN'T GET NO) SATISFACTION.'"

Keith Richards dreamed this song into existence, without even remembering doing it. He woke up one morning to find two minutes of the classic "Satisfaction" guitar riff on his tape recorder next to his bed, and "then me snoring for the next forty minutes." Mick Jagger wrote the lyrics later, just a few days before the Stones went into the studio to record it on May 12, 1965. We have dreams about falling, flying or maybe loosing our teeth...Keith Richards writes one of the greatest songs of all time in his dreams. That's why he's Keith Richards and we're not. Keef riff hard.

The award measures 13 x 17 and present with very little wear save a few scratches to the gold finish on the frame. Near Mint condition.
