The offered RIAA Gold Record Award was presented for Elvis Presley's 1977 single "My Way," from the LP Elvis in Concert. Both the single and the album were released after his death on October 3, 1977. The live recordings for the album were done for the 1977 CBS television special, also titled Elvis in Concert, that also aired on October 3. Two concerts were recorded, one in Omaha, Nebraska on June 19 and one in Rapid City, South Dakota on the June 21. After its release, "My Way" charted on the Billboard Hot 100, Adult Contemporary and Country charts, and was certified Gold by the RIAA on January 13, 1978. The award presented here was produced at that time, based on the "floater" style, gold frame and black background matting.

The offered award's plaque reads "Presented to COL. TOM PARKER to Commemorate the Sale of More Than One Million Copies of the RCA RECORDS Pop Single Record 'My Way.'" It was quite common for labels or artists to request copies of their awards for producers, musicians and managers. Colonel Tom was always given a copy of Elvis' awards.

The award measures 13 x 17 inches and presents with minimal scuffing to the gold finish on the wooden frame. Near Mint condition.
