1920's Basketball Poster – National Dairy Council - “Milk Helps You Win!”

Offered is a 1920's advertising poster created by "The National Dairy Council" to promote the benefits of drinking milk. The poster features two young basketball players in action with the urge to "Guard Your Health" and proclamation that "Milk Helps You Win!" The early basketball image anchors the artwork that includes the cheering crowd in the background and a large milk bottle dominating the center of the poster. The National Dairy Council was initially created in 1915 to battle negative public opinion after a foot-and-mouth disease outbreak, and it continued to promote the healthful aspects of milk for more than a century. The poster measures 12 x 16 ¾ inches and presents with moderate to heavy staining and tape along the edges on the reverse. Excellent condition.
