Offered is a FULL ticket for the scheduled fight for the “Undisputed Heavyweight Championship” between Muhammad Ali and Ernie Terrell from March 29, 1966. The fight was famously cancelled after the Illinois Athletic Commission cited some minor technicalities, but it was widely known that it was in response to Ali refusing his draft induction during the Vietnam War. After attempts to reschedule the fight, and Ali's boxing licenses being cancelled in several states, the Champ proceeded to fight six bouts over the next 12 months, finally meeting Terrell in The Houston Astrodome on February 6, 1967. Prior to Terrell, Ali defended his various titles against George Chuvalo in Canada, Henry Cooper and Brian London in England, Karl Mildenberger in West Germany and Cleveland Williams in the Astrodome. When he finally got his hands on Terrell, Ali won a brutal 15-round victory where he seemed to punish his opponent purposefully, driven by Terrell's use of “Clay” in referring to him in pre-fight media appearances. The ticket measures 5 ¾ x 2 ½ inches and presents with just a bit of mild toning along the edges. Near Mint condition.
