The 1970 Topps Super complete set of 42 cards includes 17 Hall of Famers, with Roberto Clemente, Hank Aaron and Willie Mays. This set was the first of Topps two-year experiement with the oversized, thick die-cut cardboard cards. There were only two cards in each pack, but with only 42 different, the set was packed with stars like Pete Rose, Johnny Bench and Frank Robinson. The odd size of the cards affected the allotment on the printed sheets, leaving several players “short printed,” Boog Powell most of all. The offered set presents in Excellent condition overall. Keys Clemente, Aaron, Mays and Rose may be just lesser.
