The offered group of correspondence consists of six letters and a telegram sent to Zukor-Forsher Productions concerning the company's 1961 TV show “It's Up to You,” a game show pilot featuring high school student members of the organization Junior Achievement that would pitch their inventions to a real business person and a celebrity whose identities were hidden from them.  Adolph Zukor, Jr., of the legendary Hollywood Zukors, partnered in the endeavor with Trude Forsher, who had previously been the personal secretary to Elvis Presley and his manager Colonel Tom Parker. The group emanates from Mrs. Forsher's estate. Each celebrity has signed a letter cordially informing the company of their inability to participate. The group includes: Carl Sandburg signed letter on "Carl Sandburg" executive letterhead, dated August 17, 1961; Dick Powell signed letter on "Four Star Television" letterhead, dated July 31, 1961; Robert Taylor full signature signed letter on "Robert Taylor" letterhead, dated July 27, 1961; Robert Taylor "Bob" signed letter on "Robert Taylor" letterhead, dated October 7, 1961; Tony Lawrence signed letter on "E. A. Lawrence" letterhead, dated July 31, 1961; Telegram from John Wayne, dated October 15, 1961; and a secretarially signed John Wayne letter on "John Wayne" letterhead with original mailing envelope, both dated September 18, 1961. The group is accompanied by a single auction letter of authenticity from Beckett Authentic. All the pieces present with little wear. Near Mint condition with a couple perhaps only slightly lesser.
