"In the land, where I was born, lived a man who sailed the sea..." While the offered Corgi "The Beatles Yellow Submarine" die-cast toy is certainly not large enough for us all to live in, it IS the more rare, first version of this highly collectible Beatles item. The toy has yellow and white hatches where the four Beatles pop out, as well as a red stripe that divides the top and bottom of the vessel. These details are changed and missing, respectively, on versions created after the early run of the toys. The offered example is still contained within its original box with intact cellophane window--it's a remarkable survivor from the late 1960s. Also included is a 1969 Corgi Toy Catalogue which features the product on the first page. The box measures 6 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches and presents with moderate wear to the edges, but remains very clean. The thick cellophane window is dented but intact, as is the inerior "waves" insert that holds the toy. Though not removed for inspection, the toy itself appears free of defects. Near Mint condition.
