The offered Beatles 1963 45 RPM single “Please Please Me” has been signed by John Lennon and Paul McCartney on the Parlophone sleeve. The sleeve dates to 1963 because of a printing error listing E.M.I. As “Electric & Musical Instruments” instead of “Industries.” This mistake is corrected in examples from later in 1963. The matix numbers on the vinyl of the 45 itself also date to 1963. Accompanying the sleeve is an absolutely charming notebook page diligently and neatly handwritten by a young the young Beatles fan who acquired the signatures in 1963. It lists the band members and their ages, and heights!, as of “January 1963,” as well as TV appearances including the shows People and Places, Tuesday Rendezvous and Thank Your Lucky Stars. Most interestingly, she lists all of the “Songs Sung at Majestic Thursday 31st Jan” and that she “Went to Majestic for 1st time-Fab!” It is possible this is the show at which she got John and Paul to sign her single. The Beatles indeed played in Birkenhead, England at The Majestic Ballroom on that date. She lists the songs in great detail, including “Please Please Me,” “Ask Me Why,” and “I Saw Her Standing There.” She notes “Couldn't sing 'Twist and Shout' because John had a cold.” Incredible detail! Accompanied by a letters of authenticity from noted Beatles autograph expert Frank Caiazzo and Beckett Authentic. The sleeve measures 7 x 7 inches and presents with fold marks, creasing and four, neat tape stains on the reverse corners. Excellent condition.
