Offered is an original ticket stub for the Elvis Presley show on Thursday, March 28th show at the Chicago Amphitheatre, Section C, Row 12, Seat 13. This is one of the few shows where Elvis wore his legendary gold lamé suit, dazzling the Chicago audience. The original ticket stub comes with an original pictorial newspaper advertisement for the show that appeared in a Chicago newspaper on March 25, 1957. After an extensive advertising campaign for the show and a press conference held at the Stockyards in Chicago that same day, The Chicago Daily News printed a review of the concert in the next morning’s paper that touted, “Elvis Presley put on his golden slippers last night, cuddled his guitar, gyrated, and turned the International Amphitheatre into a shrieking mass of 12,000 teen age fans... Glittering in gold, Elvis started to sing ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ and roars of sound shook the Amphitheatre for 10 minutes. It was like a tribal rite, and Presley was the high Chieftain.” This early and rare yellow-colored ticket stub, measuring 1 5/8 by 1 1/4 inches, presents in Excellent condition.
