Offered is a Roberto Clemente single signed baseball which was penned on July 25, 1970, at a game at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh, versus the Houston Astros. Clemente has signed the side panel (6-7), and on another panel in another hand is written "7-25-70 Houston-8 Pittsburgh-4." Clemente went 1 for 3, but was on base three times due to getting hit twice by Astros pitcher Larry Dierker. Not sure how that one didn't clear some benches. Single signed Clemente baseballs are highly sought after, of course, due to his untimely passing in a 1972 plane crash. Clemente was an All-Star for 13 seasons, playing in 15 All-Star Games. He was the National League MVP in 1966, the NL batting leader in 1961, 1964, 1965, and 1967, and a Gold Glove Award winner for 12 consecutive seasons from 1961 through 1972. His batting average was over .300 for 13 seasons and he had 3,000 hits during his major league career. He also was a two-time World Series champion. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Beckett Authentic. The "Special Official League" baseball presents mildly toned with minor defects. Excellent to Mint condition.
