Mickey Mantle led the 1956 World Series Champion New York Yankees with his historic Triple Crown season, .353 batting average, 52 home runs and 130 RBIs, and the obvious AL MVP. The Yankees won an historic Series in seven games agains arch rivals the Brooklyn Dodgers. The offered baseball captures 21 signatures of the players and coaches from that season. The ball is signed by Mickey Mantle (HOF, sweet spot), Yogi Berra (HOF, sweet spot), Bill Dickey (HOF, coach), Billy Martin, Jerry Coleman, Jim Coates, Joe Collins, Elston Howard, Andy Carey, Charlie Silvera, Tommy Byrne, Gil McDougald, Bill Skowron, Tom Carroll, Johnny Kucks, Irv Noren, Bob Grim, Tom Morgan, Enos Slaughter (HOF) and Manger Casey Stengel (secretarial). Dating the the ball conclusively to 1956 is that it is the final season on the Yanks for both Tom Morgan and Charlie Silvera, and it was the first year for Jim Coates, who was on the roster for only a short time that season. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Beckett Authentic. The ball presents with moderate toning, and the ink signatures grade minimally 7-8. Near Mint condition.
