This "Iolani" brand Hawaiian shirt was owned by Elvis Presley. The shirt was purchased along with a number of other of Elvis' personal clothing and belongings from the couple who purchased the home in which Vernon Presley lived on Dolan Street, on a property directly adjacent to Graceland. Elvis would often spend time with his father in the Dolan Street home, where the two would sit and watch television. Elvis' connection to Hawaii stretched back to the earliest days of his career, traveling there in the 1950s and 1960s for concerts and to make movies like Blue Hawaii and Paradise, Hawaiian Style. And of course there's Aloha from Hawaii, his triumphant worldwide broadcast televised concert special. He also vacationed there many times--the offered shirt most-likely comes from one of his later trips to the islands. The shirt still maintains its original "Iolani Hawaii" and "X-Large" tags in the collar. It is accompanied by a signed letter from "EP Archives" owner Chris Davidson detailing the purchase of the Elvis Presley materials from Hobart and Bonnie Burnette, the couple which bought the home from Vernon. The shirt, with its zipper front enclosure, presents with some wear, but has no damage. Near Mint condition.
