Elvis had several passions: foremost was music, followed by reading of spiritual materials and law enforcement. In the 1970s his enthusiasm grew for racquetball and the branch of law enforcement now known as the DEA or Drug Enforcement Agency. These last two devotions collided in the offered red DEA sweatsuit. The red cotton and polyester long-sleeved track suit with zippered ankle pants bears the logo for the “DEA National Training Institute” emblazoned on the chest and hip. The warm-up suit has the “Champion” brand collar tag that indicates size "LARGE". The sweatsuit comes with a copy of a letter from Billy Smith that states, “This red sweatsuit with ‘DEA’ emblem was given to Elvis Presley by a friend who was a FBI agent. Elvis later gave this to Billy Smith to work out with him in the racquetball building.” Also included is a handwritten “Bill of Sale” from Billy Smith dated August 17, 1981, that lists “1 Red Sweatsuit with ‘DEA’ Emblem” as one of the items sold to Mike Moon. No doubt Elvis was in his element enjoying one of his favorite pastimes while sporting this official DEA sweatsuit. The sweatsuit presents with signs of moderate use but no damage. Excellent to Mint condition.
