The May 19, 1966, letter signed by Peanuts creator Charles Schulz reads in part: “I appreciate your suggestion that I have Snoopy as a soldier in Vietnam, but this would be very difficult because the opinions on the Vietnam situation vary among readers and newspaper editors. It is somewhat the same situation a television writer faces in having to co-operate with a sponsor.” The letter is accompanied by a coffee table, hardback edition of Peanuts A Golden Celebration. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Beckett Authentic. The letter measures 6 ¼ x 7 inches and presents with a mailing fold and some mild toning. The envelope heavier toning. Excellent condition overall.
