Offered is a prop used in the film 3,000 Miles to Graceland that belonged to Kurt Russell's character "Michael Zane." The trophy reads "Michael Zane / Mount Vernon Cubs / Most Sportsmanlike Player / 1975." The film was a 2001 black comedy crime film starring Kurt Russell and Kevin Costner with supporting actors Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Bokeem Woodbine, Christian Slater, and Kevin Pollak. It is a story of theft and betrayal, revolving around a plot to rob the Riviera Casino during a convention of Elvis impersonators. In the film, Kurt Russell's character flees to the Canadian border heading for the boat he lived on, named the "Graceland". In a scene on that boat, all of his personal effects are seen in the background. While this trophy cannot be seen, it would have been displayed somewhere in this scene, and may have even been shown in a scene that didn't make the final cut, with the "Most Sportsmanlike Player" possibly shown to make a comment on Russells' character's character. There were many scenes filmed in and around Vancouver, British Columbia, and the offered trophy has a manufacturer sticker on the bottom that is from "Fraser Valley Cresting & Trophies" in Abbotsford, British Columbia, which is a suburb of Vancouver. The trophy measures 23 x 7 1/2 inches and presents with moderate wear and one small piece of the bat is missing. Excellent condition.
