Offered is an RIAA Gold Record Award for The Rolling Stones 1966 LP AFTERMATH. The group recorded the album at RCA Studios in California in December 1965 and March 1966, during breaks between their international tours. It is their first album to consist entirely of original compositions, all of which were credited to Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, including the hits "Mother's Little Helper" and "Under My Thumb". The record was released on June 1, 1966, and certified gold by the RIAA on August 9, 1966. This is an early "white linen matte" version of the award produced in the period. The plaque reads: “Presented to KEITH RICHARDS to Commemorate the Sale of More Than One Million Dollars Worth of the London Records Long-Playing Record Album 'AFTERMATH.'” The award measures 18 x 21 ½ inches and presents with mild scuffs and scratches to the wooden frame. Near Mint condition.
