Offered is an interesting letter signed by Bob Hope that gives a peek into the inner workings of the Hollywood dream machine. It is a December 2, 1946, letter on M.G.M. letterhead to Paramount Pictures asking permission to use Bob Hope's name in the dialogue of an upcoming film, The Hucksters. It's a throwaway line, but the studios showed eachother some deference when it came to their biggest stars. Hope has boldly signed the document, creating an excellent example of his signature from the peak of his career in Hollywood. The Hucksters is a 1947 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film directed by Jack Conway starring Clark Gable and Deborah Kerr (and Kennan Wynn as the character Buddy Hare mentioned in the letter). Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Beckett Authentic. Near Mint condition.
