Offered is a photo signed by both President Jimmy Carter and First Lady Rosalyn Carter. The photo captures them during Carter's tenure as Governor of Georgia with Elvis Presley backstage at the Omni in Atlanta on June 30, 1973, before Elvis' evening concert. Elvis and President Carter were actually distant cousins, and would later speak on the phone when Elvis called the White House during Carter's first months in office. Elvis was inquiring about a pardon for a friend, and the President heard him out. As Carter later recalled, it was the summer of 1977, and the conversation was sadly less than lucid. The offered photo illustrates a happier meeting between the two important historical figures. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Beckett Authentic and a COA from James Spence Authentication. The photo measures 8 x 10 inches and presents in Near Mint to Mint condition.
