The offered poster was created to promote Elvis Presley's 1958 masterpiece Jailhouse Rock. The French poster is distinct for its depiction of the famous jailhouse dance scene from the film--no other movie posters of the feature the iconic number. The French title, Le Rock duBagne, translates as "Prison Rock." That title was a little ahead of its time for the U.S. market. This oversized beauty would make an elegant and stunning addition to any advanced collection of Elvis movie posters. The poster measures 63 by 47 inches and presents with several separations at the factory folds, very common in these massive French posters printed on more delicate paper. The colors remain bold and bright, and the poster was most-likely never displayed. Linen backing would make this poster appear near perfect. Very Good to Excellent condition.
