Offered is an Elvis Presley signed Army Document from January 1961 that states that "Sgt E5 Elvis A. Presley...after being duly sworn deposes and says: I lost my ID card on or about 24 Dec 59 in the Kirchgoen Theatre. I understand that if my ID card is recovered I must promptly surrender it to the Personnel Officer." It seems the newly minted "Sgt. Presley" lost his Army identification at the movies on Christmas Eve and had to apply for a new one! Thank goodness the Army requires a form for everything leaving us with a wonderful signed relic from Elvis' military days in Germany. (If anyone finds that ID from the movie theatre, certainly let us know for our next auction!) Elvis was stationed at Ayers Kaserne Army Base at Kirch-Göns, Germany, in late 1959 and early 1960. The document was part of Jimmy Velvet's "Elvis Presley Museum" and is accompanied by a COA signed by Velvet.--it was later offered in the Butterfield and Butterfield auction of his collection. Also accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Beckett Authentication. The document measures 8 ½ x 11 inches and presents with expected wear from filing and handling. It has been folded several times, but has been stored flat for some time. Near Mint condition.
