Encapsulated PSA/DNA TYPE 1. Offered is an original news service photo of Babe Ruth and legendary Major League Umpire George Moriarty. The site of the photo is unidentified, but it is embossed in the lower right “Minneapolis Journal Photo.” That newspaper stopped publishing in 1939, dating the photograph to the period, minimally. The photograph most likely dates to earlier in the 1930s, based on Ruth's appearance, and could be taken at the 1934 All-Star game, where both men participated. The photo measures 8 x 10 inches and presents with minimal wear, one fold mark in the upper right and bold contrast. The names “RUTH” and “George Moriarty” are written in pen on the back, at a much later time. Near Mint condition.
