While Elvis Presley took great care to not smoke in public, he often enjoyed small cigars or cigarettes in his free time, and the offered cigarette holder would have been employed to hold his smokes in style. The ivory colored handle adds a sense of elegance to the presentation, but not nearly as much as the holder's case did. The custom-sized receptacle could be mistaken for a tiny violin case, with its luxurious leather outer covering and fine clasp enclosure. Fit for a king. Elvis later gifted the holder to his bodyguard Dave Hebler, whose accompanying letter reads, "To whom it may concern: My name is Dave Hebler and for a number of years I was Elvis Presley's personal bodyguard. Elvis gave me a number of personal items both while on tour and when I was with him at Graceland and his Beverly Hills home on Monovale Dr. Elvis occasionally liked to smoke cigarettes as well as pipes. This black and ivory coated cigarette holder was used by Elvis when he gave it to me after he had decided one day he was quitting." The cigarette holder is 5 1/2 inches long and 1/4 inch round and presents Excellent to Mint condition. leather case is 6 inches long and 1 inch wide. It presents in Near Mint condition.
