Offered is a Universal Studio-issued 1941 news service photo of Lon Chaney as The Wolfman. This is the absolutely classic image of the Wolfman, and the backstamping on the reverse is dated "NOV 10 1941" --this is prior to the film's release in December 1941. The paper caption is still adhered to the back, and it reads "'Destiny' Universal / Lon Chaney, as the 'wolf man.'" Along with Dracula, Frankenstein and The Mummy, The Wolfman is considered one of the pillars of the "Universal Studios Monsters" series of more than 40 classic horror and monster films of the 1930s, 40s and 50s. The photo measures 8 x 10 inches and presents with residue from tape bindings that have been removed and some missing image area finish on the left--though this doesn't enter the central Wolf Man image. Excellent condition.
