Offered is a 1955 letter on "Carlyle Productions Inc." executive stationary signed by director Otto Preminger. The letter was sent to composer Cole Porter and reads in part: "Dear Cole: Here is the book that I told you about on the phone. It was Number One on the best seller lists for fourteen weeks and is now Number Two. I hope it will inspire you. I know it will amuse you at least. Best. As ever, OTTO." Preminger is referencing the book Bonjour Tristesse, a novel by Françoise Sagan that was an overnight success in 1955, and which Preminger adapted into the 1958 film of the same name starring Jean Seberg, Deborah Kerr and David Niven. Accompanied by a COA from Beckett Authentication. The letter measures 7 1/4 x 10 inches and presents with original mailing folds. Near Mint condition.
