Offered is one of the earliest Dean Martin signatures we have seen, especially on a professional document. Martin has signed the October 6, 1943, "Blue Network Company, Inc." contract to appear on the "Joe Rines and Orchestra" radio show. Martin had only recently moved to New York to pursue his singing career after singing for Cleveland bandleader Sammy Watkins for several years--Watkins is credited with suggesting he change his name to Dean Martin. He stayed with Watkins there until at least May 1943. He wouldn't team up with Jerry Lewis, rocketing his career to superstardom, until 1946. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Beckett Authentication. The sheet measures 8 1/2 x 11 inches and presents in Near Mint to Mint condition.
