This stub was taken from Elvis Presley's personal checkbook register. The register was originally sold in the January 2015 Graceland Auctions event, but has since been broken up and sold off to collectors. The offered check stub features a “third person” set of Elvis' initials as he notes that the $1000 check written to Charlie Hodge on January 22, 1976, was “Personal for EP.” Elvis had returned from his ski vacation in Denver by this date and was preparing for what would become known as “The Jungle Room Sessions” at Graceland. This is a tidy little example of Elvis' initials on a document. The check stub measures 6 x 1 ¼ inches and presents in Near Mint to Mint condition with bold black writing. It is accompanied by a copy of the original letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated and a letter of authenticity from Beckett Authentic.
