Offered is the New York Yankees team photo from the 1936 R311 National Chicle Premium set. The set was used to promote the 1934-36 National Chicle Diamond Stars set—a kid could turn in 15 Diamond Stars wrappers to get one of these oversized beauties. Sevenof the premiums were sent in each box of Diamond Star packs for retailers to use for the promotion. These typically condition-sensitive oversized premiums normally suffer from surface issues related to the highly glossy finish, but the offered example has survived with little distress. Yankee legend Lou Gehrig can be seen at the far left of the back row in the team photo. The piece measures 8 x 6 inches. Stunning Near Mint condition.
