Offered is an RIAA Gold Record Award for Elvis Presley's 1968 LP ELVIS, the soundtrack for his '68 Comeback TV Special. The record was released on December 1, 1968, and certified gold by the RIAA on July 22, 1969. The offered award was produced in that period based on the early white linen matte style. The plaque reads: “Presented to RCA to Commemorate the Sale of More Than One Million Copies of the RCA RECORDS Long Playing Record Album 'ELVIS.'”  The show was broadcast by NBC on December 3, 1968, and originally simply titled ELVIS. The LP was recorded at Western Recorders on June 20, 21, 22 and 23, 1968, and at NBC Studios (Burbank) on June 27 and 29, 1968. The award measures 17 1/2 x 21 1/2 inches and presents with moderate areas of toning/staining to the matte area, but little other distress. Excellent to Mint condition.
