Offered are two artifacts from the career and philanthropic life of Danny Thomas. The first is a November 16, 1954, letter signed by Thomas instructing "Chemical Corn Exchange Bank" about a transfer of $200,000 on behalf of the "St. Jude Hospital Foundation Inc." Thomas life-long dedication to St. Judes is well-known, and even today his daughter, actor Marlo Thomas, continues to carry on his legacy of charity work with the organization. The second item is an award plaque from Harrah's Casino that states "Danny Thomas Thank you for Volunteering Your Talent, Energy and Enthusiasm Toward the Kick Off of Harrah's 50th Anniversary and The Opening of The Holiday Casino Showroom. HOLIDAY CASINO / Holiday Inn." The award is accompanied by a letter from the collector who acquired it at the Abell's Auction House sale of the Danny Thomas estate. The plaque measures 9 x 12 inches. The letter is accompanied by a COA from Beckett Authentic. Near Mint condition overall.
