Graded SCG PR 1. Honestly, we just thought this one was cool. Though it's a 1909 T206 Piedmont Wilbur Goode with decent color and commensurate distress for its grade, it's the "TAFT: MEET US AT WILMINGTON NOV 9" political sticker on the reverse that makes this artifact so desirable. On November 9, 1909, President William Taft visited Wilmington, North Carolina at the end of nationwide tour during the first year of his Presidency. The days festivities culminated in a large military parade through Wilmington. The offered card shows some ingenuity of Taft supporters to get the word out, turning a T206 card into a mini-handbill promoting the visit. Genius.
