Offered is a well-worn gun holster made for Elvis Presley's father, Vernon Presley. The holster was customized with his initials "V. P." The leatherwork involved was done by Mike McGregor, whose talents included running Elvis' Circle G Ranch in the 1960s and leather working and jewelry making when he moved to Graceland to continue working for the Presleys. The holster was eventually given to Elvis' longtime friend and confidant, and noted member of the Memphis Mafia,  Sonny West. The accompanying letter on Sonny West's "TCB" letterhead states:

This letter is to confirm the authenticity of a gun holster given by Elvis Presley to his father Vernon Presley. It is black in color and has a waffle type design on the outside. There are two snaps to fasten the holster to a belt and a black strap with the initials V P etched on it hat snaps to the holster to hold the gun in the holster. The strap was made by Mike McGregor, a man that worked for Elvis at Graceland. He was very good in the art of leather craft and made several items for Elvis over the years. This is a very good item to add to an Elvis Presley personal belongings collection.

The holster measures 3 1/4 x 5 inches and presents with heavy use. Elvis and his father, not to mention the rest of the boys, were often wearing a sidearm. Near Mint condition.
