The offered light blue scarf with dark blue facsimile "ELVIS PRESLEY" signture was acquired directly from Charlie Hodge by a dear friend in the radio industry. The scard is the kind that Hodge regularly handed to Elvis during his performances in the 1970s that were destined to end up being given to a fan up front. A letter from Charlie's friend accompanies, and it reads:

I was friends with Charlie Hodge, George Klein, Joe Esposito and Jerry Schilling for many years. I came to know them starting in 1974 when I was Program Director of a radio station in Chicago. George Klein and I worked for the same radio company, RKO. I was the first to have an all Elvis weekend on the radio playing everything he had recorded for 3 days straight. That led to a thank you call from Elvis and an invite down to Graceland. I was promoted to a radio job in Los Angeles in 1976 where I again produced numerous Elvis radio specials. This scarf was given to me by Charlie Hodge as a thank you for all I did for promoting Elvis through the years. I am a life long Elvis fan. You will find my Star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame just 11 spaces from one of Elvis's Stars.

For an Elvis Presley show attendee in the 1970s, there was nothing better than getting to sit close to the stage (or just rushing up there!) and having Elvis pull one of his signature scarves off of his sweat-stained neck and hand it to you. He did it dozens of times each night, for years on end, but the gesture never, ever lost its devastating impact on his fans. These scarves became treasured keepsakes, packed away safely, but one from Charlie Hodge himself is indeed a special item. The scarf measures 34 x 34 inches and presents with little wear and no major stains. Near Mint condition.
