“ELVIS PRESLEY DR” Street Sign from His Birthplace, Tupelo, Mississippi

The “Old Saltillo Road” on which Elvis' birthplace stands was rededicated “ELVIS PRESLEY DRIVE” in the mid-1970s. The offered street sign hails from the early 1980s, when early one morning a gentleman came across a downed street sign pole at the corner of Main Street and Elvis Presley Drive—it had been run over the night before. He plucked the sign from the street and kept it all these years. We have never seen another street sign from Tupelo offered at public auction. The street sign measures 30 x 6 inches and presents with heavy wear from the elements and from being run over! Very Good to Excellent condition.
