Offered are two variations of Elvis Presley's 1970 release Worldwide 50 Gold Award Hits Vol. 1. In 1970, The Colonel wished to capitalize on Elvis’ older material by compiling a four-LP box set release for a special price. This special four-LP set, Worldwide 50 Gold Award Hits Vol. 1, would be released in August 1970 during Elvis' 1970 Las Vegas Summer Festival. The Colonel's marketing efforts during the Summer Festival were structured around the release and branded as "THE BIG 50." This phrase could be seen on satin banners literally all over the Las Vegas International Hotel and even on special gifts like lighters that the Colonel gave out to VIPs.

To further cross-promote the Las Vegas summer concerts, the souvenir "Photo Album" from the Las Vegas shows was included with the album. Then in 1971, the next souvenir photo album was inserted to continue the promotion. The offered two copies of the album each has its appropriate inserted photo album. Additionally, the 1971 variation employs the use of RCA's new "flexible" vinyl.

The boxes have minor wear to the edges, but the vinyl within is in strong NM condition.
